About We Honor Veteran's Program
We Honor Veteran’s represents a collaborative effort between the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This pioneering program invites hospices, state hospice organizations, hospice-veteran partnerships, and VA facilities to participate. Our shared objective is to deliver hospice care for veterans grounded in principles of compassionate listening, respectful inquiry, and grateful acknowledgment of their invaluable military service.
Veterans enrolled in both VA benefits and Medicare can benefit from the Concurrent Care Program. This initiative allows veterans to receive services concurrently from the VA for treatment and from Home Health and Hospice under Medicare, provided they meet the qualifying criteria for Medicare services.
